Rio Vista has been labeled as a program improvement school for the last 7 years despite meeting goals 3 of the 7 years and having continuous growth. After a couple of narrow misses in recent years and repeated frozen PI status updates Rio Vista has shed the PI label. With the announcement of the 2013 AYP and API reports by the state Rio Vista bucked the state trend of declining test scores with a 37 point increase and an overall API Score of 827. By meeting 17 of 17 growth objectives Rio Vista sheds the Program Improvement label and for the first time has exceeded the state target of 800. Congratulations to the students, staff, teachers and parents for all of the hard work and dedication in making this possible. Way to go Panthers!
