Message from the Superintendent
September 5, 2019
Dear El Rancho Community,
As your Superintendent, I am committed to the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Yesterday, I informed parents, families and staff via email regarding the recent newspaper article that there has been water testing in the City of Pico Rivera. The Pico Water District and the Water Authority have stated that the recent newspaper article may have caused some confusion with the public about the water quality in the City of Pico Rivera.
Therefore, even if the water is deemed to be safe by the Pico Water District and the Water Authority, as well as other regulatory agencies, the El Rancho Unified School District has taken measures to be proactive in our schools. Our Maintenance and Operations team is currently visiting all school campuses and district offices to identify each water fountain as we will be installing water filters at all school and district office locations.
Please be reassured that the El Rancho Unified School District is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that our students and staff have access to safe drinking water now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Frances Esparza, Ed.D.
Superintendent
