Spring Pictures All students will be taking spring pictures on Thursday, March 6. It is a free dress day. Uniforms are not required but clothing should be appropriate for school dress code.
HOTM Parent Nutrition Classes Harvest of the Month Parent Nutrition Classes will be held 4 times this year. Classes will be held on January 26, February 16, March 15 and April 26. All classes begin at 6 pm.
Road Repairs around Rio Vista The city will be completing street maintenance on the residential streets in the neighborhood. Street parking and traffic will be affected off and on during the coming weeks. Be sure to plan ahead and watch your children closely during these changes.
2nd and 5th Grade Students to Perform Holiday Favorites Thursday evening at 6 pm Rio Vista will hold its Holiday Performance in the cafeteria. Students from the 2nd and 5th grade classes will perform as a class ending with the grand finale.
Dessert Fundraiser Begins *It was brought to our attention that there were some errors in the prize and information page in the fundraising packet. The prize levels have been updated and a new information page will be sent home with students on 11/16. It is also important to note that checks will not be accepted so all orders should be received as cash. Any further questions regarding specific information can be referred to PTO. We are sorry for any confusion that this has caused and we thank you for your support.

Fresh and Easy Shop For Schools Rio Vista will be helping out at the Fresh and Easy store on November 10. A portion of the evenings sales will benefit Rio Vista. A Fresh and Easy gift card will go to one lucky winner.
HSBA adopts Rio Vista Kindergarten and First Grade students. The Hispanic Student Business Association from Cal State Long Beach has selected Rio Vista as a partner school for their Para Los NiƱos program.
RIF So Cal selects Rio Vista for another year of book distribution! SoCal RIF, Reading is Fundamental will provide 3 books to each kindergarten through 3rd grade student throughout the 2011-2012 school year.
Pumpkin Carving Contest Students may bring a carved pumpkin to school on Monday. Students may also wear black, orange or a Halloween themed t-shirt. Students are not to wear costumes to school.
