Student Council Elections

Students are currently in the process of running for student council office for this academic year. 4-5th grade students will be delivering speeches to all upper grade students this coming Friday in an assembly for students only. Following the speeches, all classes will be voting for their candidates. Winners will be announced before the end of the school day. Look back here for more information soon!

Successful First Fundraiser

A giant thank you and congratulations to our Rio Vista Community. The first fundraiser of the year was hugely successful. Thank you for all your hard work and commitment to the success of our school.

Suggested Supplies List 2018/2019

If you would like to help with supplies for your Rio Vista scholar for next year, here is a list of supplies that will help with learning. To access the list, click on the title above. All supplies donations are happily accepted at any time during the year.

Parent Workshops, Fall 2018

There are three parent workshops planned for this fall. Rio Vista will be offering an introduction to online tools for learning, an overview of how supporting your child at home with AVID can support them on their journey to college, and a workshop on all things bullying and how to stop it. Pajama Drive at Rio Vista

We are partnering with Scholastic to collect pajamas for those in need. We need any size and will be collecting until December 11th. Rio Vista will also get a book for every pair donated. Click the link for additional information.

Read Across America Week/Día de Leer en todo América

Rio Vista will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday. Each day we will celebrate with a themed day that goes with one of Dr. Seuss Books./ Cada día celebraremos con un día temática que acompaña a uno de los libros de Dr. Seuss.

Monday---"Green Eggs and Ham" Green eggs and ham will be served for breakfast. Wear Green.
lunes------"Huevos Verdes con Jamón serán servidos para el desayuno. Vistan en color verde.

Tuesday---"Cat in the Hat" Wear your favorite stripe shirt or Cat in the Hat shirt.
martes----"El Gato Ensombrerado" Use su camisa rayada favorita o camisa del Gato Ensombrerado.

Wednesday---"Wacky Wednesday" Wear your clothes backwards.
miercoles-----"Miecoles Chiflado" Vistan con ropa al revéz.

Thursday------"Oh, the Places You'll Go!" Wear a college/university jersey, shirt or sweater.
jueves---------"Oh, Cuan Lejos Llegaras!" Vistan en vestimenta de colegio o universidad.

Friday----------"Fox in Socks" Wear your crazy socks.

Open House 2018

Rio Vista's Open House is on Thursday, February 15th from 5:00pm-6:30pm. We hope that you can join us! Friday, February 16th is a minimum day. TK-kinder students are dismissed at 12:55 pm and 1st-5th grade at 1:05 pm.

"School Smarts" de Rio Vista

School Smarts at Rio Vista Elementary

Please join us for our parent workshops in January, February, and March. Students whose parents attend and graduate from the program will be invited to lunch with the Principal. The kick off meeting is January 24th from 1:45-3:45 pm.

School Smarts will be meeting every Wednesday from 1:45-3:45 through March. It is sponsored by the California PTA and run by two of our very own Rio Vista Parents. Join us for guest speakers, art, and lots of learning about how to be a more involved and effective parent.

Together we can make a difference in the education of our Rio Vista panthers!
